Precision Ejector Pins Built for Your Toughest Molds

Ejector pins are the workhorse of every injection mold. They push the finished part out of the cavity after each cycle. A pin that bends, galls, or wears prematurely means stuck parts, damaged cavities, and stopped production lines.

At Tooling Components, we supply precision ejector pins manufactured to strict tolerances from premium tool steels. Whether you need standard through-hard pins for general-purpose molds or nitrided H13 pins for high-volume production, we have the inventory and technical expertise to deliver the right pin the first time.

Types of Ejector Pins We Supply

Pin Type Material Hardness Best For
Through-Hard Ejector Pins H13 Tool Steel 60-62 HRC General-purpose injection molding, standard cycle times
Nitrided H13 Ejector Pins H13 + Surface Nitriding 65-70 HRC (surface) High-volume production, abrasive resins, reduced galling
Stainless Steel Pins (420 SS) 420 Stainless Steel 50-55 HRC Medical, food-grade, and corrosive environments (PVC)
M2 High-Speed Steel Pins M2 HSS 62-65 HRC Glass-filled and highly abrasive materials
Step Ejector Pins H13 Tool Steel 60-62 HRC Thin-wall parts, ribs, and tight-clearance ejection
Flat Ejector Pins H13 Tool Steel 60-62 HRC Ejecting from ribs, bosses, or flat surfaces
Return Pins H13 Tool Steel 60-62 HRC Returning ejector plate to starting position each cycle

Materials & Specifications

Every ejector pin we supply meets or exceeds industry standards for hardness, straightness, and surface finish. Our pins are precision-ground to ensure proper clearance in the ejector plate and smooth operation through millions of cycles.

Standard Specifications

  • Diameters: 1.0mm to 25mm (metric), 1/16" to 1" (inch)
  • Lengths: Up to 500mm (20") standard, longer available
  • Tolerance: h6 ground (standard), h5 available on request
  • Surface Finish: Ra 0.4 microns or better
  • Hardness: 60-62 HRC core, up to 70 HRC nitrided surface
  • Standards: DIN 1530, JIS B 5108, MISUMI equivalent

How to Select the Right Pin

Choosing the wrong ejector pin costs more than the pin itself. Consider:

  1. Resin type: Glass-filled materials require M2 or nitrided H13 for abrasion resistance
  2. Operating temperature: High-temp resins need H13 or M2, not standard steel
  3. Part geometry: Thin walls and ribs need step or flat pins to distribute ejection force
  4. Cycle volume: High-volume molds benefit from nitrided surfaces to extend pin life
  5. Environment: Corrosive materials (PVC) or medical/food require 420 stainless
  6. Ejection force: Calculate total force and distribute across multiple pins to prevent bending
